ABOUT THE WINE:
“Three-Piece Pinot Noir” is from single vineyard sites, blended together to make something sublime. The deep color and grace of the Swan selection carries the wine, with wild aromas of the hillside block old Wente and spicy barrel fermented Dijon clone 777 blended in for complexity.
Davis Bynum was a pioneer in the Russian River Valley, making his first single vineyard Pinot Noir in 1973 from a winery built out of an old hop kiln. The winemaking team’s philosophy of minimalist viticulture is the product of his deep respect and understanding of the Russian River Valley’s unique terroir. In keeping with Bynum’s “hands-off” winemaking philosophy, Davis Bynum wines are unfiltered, and this natural, old-world style of winemaking yields a more complex, aromatic, flavorful wine with nuanced characteristics and subtleties.
“Three-Piece Pinot Noir” was barrel fermented and hand-punched, made with love from a small group of people dedicated to the craft of making fine single vineyard Russian River Valley wines.
