“Glissando” is an Italianized musical term derived from the French “glisser” which means “to glide.” For this refined Sonoma County Barrel Auction lot, the maestro, Winemaker Fernando Candelario, waved his baton to create a harmonious balance that will enchant collectors for years to come. His approach is to take what nature provides, apply winemaking science to allow things to take their course, and then gently coax the magnificent wine that was already there without stepping in the way of excellence.

April Xie is the pioneering owner of Ektimo Vineyards and the driving force behind the winery. She is an entrepreneur on the forefront of Chinese women leaders in business, and is a champion of California wines in the Asian marketplace. She is on the leading edge of the next generation in the wine industry and is introducing wine as a lifestyle enhancement in her native China.

“Glissando” has an intense Siam Ruby color that is clear and captivating. It is effusively aromatic with notes of Marasca cherry and crab apple blossom. On the palate, the flavors glide effortlessly from Morello cherry to red currant and Nilgiri tea with a maelstrom of complexities to be explored.
