ABOUT THE WINE:

This Sonoma County Barrel Auction lot comes exclusively from DuMOL’s Dr. Galante Estate Vineyard in the heart of Green Valley. Acquired in 2023, this historic site, planted in 1998 with Pommard clone vines, is organically dry farmed to encourage deep roots and concentrated character. Its northeast-facing exposure and cooling coastal influence produce Pinot Noir with purity, vibrancy, and elegance — a true reflection of Green Valley at its finest. This is the first time that fruit from the Dr. Galante Estate Vineyard will be produced as a standalone DuMOL wine.

DuMOL has a deep connection to Green Valley spanning more than two decades. It started with a vision and grit when they planted their first 10 acres of estate vineyards with heritage vines in the foggiest corner of the Russian River Valley. Winegrower and Proprietor Andy Smith has dedicated himself to understanding the nuances of the region’s cool climate, Goldridge soils and ocean fog.

“Literal Fruition” is fermented with native yeasts and 25% whole-cluster fermentation. Throughout the winemaking process, we gently manage the wine to preserve its integrity and purity of fruit. It spends 12 months in barrel, with approximately 30% new oak. This light touch allows the wine’s natural elegance to shine through. The wine is fragrant, crystalline on the palate, and shows purity of fruit and good acidity.
