ABOUT THE WINE:

“Rock Arch” Vineyard represents the last remaining 5 acres of the original vineyards purchased by the Pride family. Named for the iconic manmade rock arch that once framed the main entrance to the property in the 1800s, the vineyard lies in close proximity to the remaining structure. The vines here, with their larger root systems, produce naturally low yields that result in a Cabernet Sauvignon of extraordinary power and complexity. Only five cases of 100% “Rock Arch” Cabernet Sauvignon will be crafted for the Sonoma County Barrel Auction.

Pride Mountain Vineyards is a second-generation, family-owned and operated winery founded by Jim and Carolyn Pride. The family is dedicated to crafting wines that reflect the rich history and unique terroir of their 2,100-foot-elevation estate. Their mission is to honor the land’s distinct growing conditions while producing wines of exceptional quality and character.

From grape to bottle, this wine offers a glimpse into the vision of Winemaker Matt Ward, showcasing his interpretation of the estate’s fruit at its absolute finest. The palate is a complex tapestry of blackberry tarte, cedar, summer savory, currants, bay leaf, and dried orange rind, all gracefully evolving with a finish of delicate crème brûlée. While approachable in its youth, this wine holds tremendous aging potential, promising to richly reward those with the patience to cellar it for a decade or more.
