Lot #43 Ridge Vineyards

“Fredson Ranch” is located on Geyserville Avenue and is made of five separate parcels. The front portion, blocks 1 and 2, go into the Ridge Geyserville red wine blend. The Cabernet Sauvignon for this exclusive Sonoma County Barrel Auction lot is grown in the back of the vineyard, in blocks 4 and 5.

Ridge Vineyards relies on nature and tradition rather than technology. Their pre-industrial approach is straightforward: find intense, flavorful grapes; intrude upon the process only when necessary; draw the fruit’s distinctive character and richness into the wine. Ridge is one of the largest farmers of organically certified grapes in Sonoma County.

When crafting this special wine, Winemaker Shauna Rosenblum used native primary and malolactic fermentations and 100% American oak barrels. The result is that “Fredson Ranch” exudes classic Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon aromas and a flavor profile including garrigue, peppercorn, black fruit, tobacco leaf, and vanilla.
