ABOUT THE WINE:

Legendary producer Patz & Hall just dropped its latest single “Cluster Struck,” which is sure to be an instant hit. The Patz & Hall winemaking team is thrilled to present this unique expression of a classic California Pinot Noir vineyard — Gap’s Crown Vineyard in the Sonoma Coast. Like a music producer sampling different tracks, they included 50% whole cluster to one of their fermentations from the vineyard and then blended portions of their best three barrels for this very special Sonoma County Barrel Auction lot. The result is a perfect note, on pitch and fully in tune.

Since its founding in 1988, Patz & Hall has made some of the New World’s most stirring and sought-after single-vineyard Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs – wines that have become benchmarks for their intensity, elegance, and complexity. Today, the winery is once again family owned.

“Cluster Struck” Pinot Noir shows the broad, yet fine, tannins classic to Gap’s Crown along with the earth and cedar textures of whole cluster. This is sometimes referred to as “The Third Dimension.” They hope it strikes you as other worldly.
