Lot #50 Williams Selyem

Never before and never again, the four Williams Selyem estate vineyards are artfully blended to create a wine that represents the four distinct regions of the appellation. Represented in the blend are the Williams Selyem Estate on Westside Road, Lewis MacGregor Estate on Eastside Road, Drake Estate on the western edge of the Russian River Valley appellation, and their newest Pinot Noir planting at the Saitone Estate. Each brings a unique profile to the blend, that melds together power and richness with the precision and elegance that is signature to the Williams Selyem style.

Williams Selyem’s success has undoubtedly been tied to the vineyards through partnerships with legendary growers across Sonoma County. Small lot, hand crafted wines from iconic sites certainly helped pave the way for the Russian River Valley as a pre-eminent growing region. In the early days, Burt Williams and Ed Selyem sourced grapes and did not own any of their own vineyards. Over time, Williams Selyem has acquired key holdings within the diverse American Viticultural Area that offer unique expressions of Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, many of which are worthy vineyard designates in their own right.
