A collection of ravens is known as a ‘conspiracy’—making it the perfect word to describe this exceptional collaboration between legendary Ravenswood founder, Joel Peterson, and its acclaimed current winemaker, Michael Eddy-Cort. “The Conspiracy” Zinfandel marks the passing of the Ravenswood torch with a one-of-a-kind blend of old and new vines grown on Monte Rosso Vineyard. Known as “the Godfather of Zinfandel” for his exceptional contributions to California winemaking and his passion for Zinfandel, Joel turned to Monte Rosso Vineyard’s celebrated Old Vine Zinfandel in 1992 for his first release from the site. Returning to Ravenswood’s roots, “The Conspiracy” blends Zinfandel from these same old-vine blocks with fruit selected from newer blocks. With over 50 years of combined experience crafting wines from this iconic vineyard, each winemaker has intimate knowledge of how to coax the most distinctive and outstanding dimensions from the site.

Founded in 1976, Ravenswood was one of the most influential producers in bringing premium Zinfandel wines to prominence in the 1980s and 1990s, transforming what had been known as a sweet blush grape into one of the most popular varietal wines in the U.S.

Expect generous, exceptionally layered notes of dark red fruit, minerality and spice, with the site’s appealing structure and acidity offering the finished wine a bright, claret-like quality.
