  • Burnside Vineyard
  • Russian River Valley

2024
5 CASES

ABOUT THE WINE:

In 2024, Tamber Bey Vineyards produced one barrel of whole-cluster-fermented Pinot Noir grapes from the Burnside Vineyard. The winemaking is a collaboration between Winemaker Sally Johnson Blum, the longtime Pinot Noir winemaker for Schoolhouse Vineyards, and Director of Winemaking Operations Hayley Bowman, whose tenures at Flowers Vineyards & Winery and Freeman Winery, as well as harvest experience in New Zealand, give her a deep familiarity with Pinot Noir winemaking techniques.

Sally and Hayley call the barrel a “One and Done.” Five cases will be bottled from the barrel exclusively for this auction lot. This wine was sourced from the Balletto family’s Burnside Vineyard, an idyllic site in the Sebastopol Hills region of the Russian River Valley. The wine is entirely clone 113, a Dijon selection that produces wines of elegance and perfume.

Beautifully aromatic, “One and Done” has aromas of ripe cherry, raspberry, sarsaparilla and hibiscus. On the palate, the texture is layered and unctuous, a luxurious effect created by the whole cluster fermentation. The finish is long yet balanced by freshness.
