Lot #54 Sojourn Cellars

The Annapolis region of the West Sonoma Coast is a special place located in the coastal mountains, less than seven miles from the Pacific Ocean. “Sky’s the Limit” represents the first and only time that Sojourn Cellars will blend Pinot Noir from Annapolis Ridge and Walala Vineyard, both at elevations above 1,000 feet, making it a truly special auction lot. The magic of these vineyards lies above the marine layer clouds where the grapes can ripen in the sun while the coastline below them is steeped in thick fog.

Sojourn Cellars just celebrated its 20th year producing memorable wines from renowned vineyards along the Sonoma Coast and Sonoma Valley. Sojourn has a special Tasting Salon in the town of Sonoma where guests can enjoy Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon wines in a side-by-side format to compare and contrast the nuances of each vineyard and wine region.

Winemaker Randy Bennett practices minimal intervention in the winery, with a focus on building layers of complexity in the wines through each decision he makes. This is an intense Pinot Noir, with notes of dark berry, cherry, anise, and baking spices. The velvety texture, broad tannins and incredible fullness give this wine a structure that will allow it to cellar beautifully.
