Lot #55 Skipstone

Pocket Peak is the latest proposed AVA, located in the eastern highlands of Alexander Valley. Skipstone is proud to be one of the few wineries located within this proposed appellation, and has chosen a small block of Cabernet Sauvignon from the highest elevation site from which Skipstone makes wine for this Sonoma County Barrel Auction lot.

Skipstone has been in relentless pursuit of honest wines — wines that reflect and capture their place and growing conditions in the bottle with purity and sincerity since their founding in 2005. With this wine, they take that pursuit beyond their estate high into the hillsides in Pocket Peak.

Skipstone’s profile has always been notable for their structured, highly polished, elegant wines from their estate. This cuvée comes from a higher elevation site that demonstrates tremendous concentration of flavor and aromatics from the terroir and 2023 vintage. This is a powerhouse wine that will reward patience.
