This is Gloria Ferrer’s first-ever Extra Brut extended tirage release, making “Ocho Reserva” a rare and historic offering.

Gloria Ferrer is a pioneering sparkling wine house in Carneros, Sonoma County, founded in 1986 by the Ferrer family, owners of Spain’s renowned Freixenet. As the first sparkling winery in Carneros, Gloria Ferrer helped establish the region as a premier destination for cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

On the nose, golden brioche, toasted almond, and allspice mingle with bright citrus notes of Meyer lemon zest and candied orange peel, offering a captivating aromatic profile. The silky mousse gives way to a lively yet refined palate, where layers of golden apple, Asian pear, and baked quince unfold alongside savory marzipan, hazelnut, and a delicate minerality. Extended aging has softened the wine’s natural acidity, enhancing its lush, creamy texture while preserving its crisp, elegant structure.
