Lot #33 Gloria Ferrer

“Brut Nature Rosé” has been crafted specifically for the Sonoma County Barrel Auction and has no added sugar (the added “nature” in the name indicates no sugar or dosage added), allowing the purity of the fruit to shine through. The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay were sourced from Gloria Ferrer’s estate vineyards in Carneros. The winery partnered with UC Davis to gather and evaluate copious amounts of performance data to meticulously match the ideal clones to their estate. Today, they proudly feature 17 Pinot Noir clones and four Chardonnay clones that thrive in this special growing region.

The team at Gloria Ferrer believes in growing wine while showing respect for every single vine and every individual in their extended family. In 2016, the winery adopted the Code of Sustainable Winegrowing Practices and received certification for the same. Currently they are working toward obtaining organic certification by 2025. They are committed to promoting biodiversity, maintaining soil health, managing water efficiently, using integrated pest management, and conserving energy.

Gloria Ferrer’s sparkling wines are crafted with an intentional style that combines innovation and consistency. Winemaker Kyle Altomare uses creativity, ingenuity, and a gentle approach to showcase the unique Carneros terroir through the Pinot Noir-dominated sparkling wines. This traditional method sparkler shows fresh strawberries, candied ginger, and raspberry tart on the palate with soft mousse and a lingering finish.
