Lot #49 River Road Family Vineyards and Winery

“Stephanie’s Select” is a special lot selection hand-picked by Winemaker Ed Morris during the 2023 harvest. The wine is named for the daughter of the original family who planted the Pinot Noir in River Road Vineyard. This estate vineyard was planted 24 years ago, and is still managed by the same vineyard manager who also planted the vines, Alvaro Zamora.

Located in the coolest appellation in Sonoma County, the Green Valley of the Russian River Valley, the vineyard sits on 100% Goldridge Soil, which promotes stress on the vines, leading to concentrated flavors in the berries.

Winemaker Ed Morris takes a unique approach, based on his experience having a coopering background, as he chooses the relationship between the oak and wine. Expect flavors of cherry and raspberry, with hints of an earthiness and spice, which adds to the complexity of the wine. The vineyard’s cooler climate preserves the natural acidity of the grapes, which delivers a well-balanced and elegant Pinot Noir.
