“Clone Alone” packs a double one-two punch: Made from one Grand Cru vineyard with one exceptional clone all alone from two meticulously tended vineyard blocks by two visionary winemakers. Situated at the zenith of the Petaluma Gap, Gap’s Crown Vineyard has ascended to prominence as one of the preeminent Pinot Noir vineyards of California. In an exciting collaboration, Theresa Heredia, Director of Winemaking at Gary Farrell and Ryan Prichard, Director of Winemaking at Three Sticks Wines, have joined forces to craft an auction lot from the storied vines of this epic property. This duo has artfully selected clone 667 from vineyard block 7 and 3, respectively, blending the distinctive characteristics of these vineyard blocks to create a wine that embodies the essence of Gap’s Crown.

In 2005, following the establishment of Three Sticks Wines, Bill Price III further enriched his Sonoma County pinot noir portfolio with the esteemed Gary Farrell Winery. Additionally, he augmented this collection by adding the iconic and prolific Gap’s Crown Vineyard, marking a strategic and significant expansion of his vineyard holdings in the region.

The site expression of Gap’s Crown stands out in both components, showcasing dark blue fruit profile, richly layered tannins with a juicy, mouthwatering verve. This unique offering reflects the combined expertise of two exceptional winemakers and the unparalleled terroir of this esteemed vineyard, promising a vinous masterpiece that captures the very soul of California’s Grand Cru Pinot Noir heritage.
